About

Spring 1948: As the Cold War intensifies, CIA agent John Sedo travels home on board a Lockheed Constellation, fresh from his first successful mission in Czechoslovakia. Yet, the war has only just begun; John faces his most dangerous conflict – the one within himself.

Torn between his dark urge and a longing for something pure, John finds himself irresistibly drawn to the enchanting singer Allison Lakehill. She offers a haven of the light he craves, but his world of espionage and danger is no place for innocence. In a desperate bid to keep her safe, he tries to push her away. Allison sees through his deceit and his carefully built walls come crumbling down.

Shadows grow deeper and enemies close in – John realizes he must navigate a rising tide of peril. Without the guidance of his army colonel mentor, he and his fellow agents risk being entrapped by insurgents, pushed to their limits while struggling to retain their humanity amidst the escalating spy games.

With communists circling Italy like sharks and the Iron Curtain drawing ever closer, John Sedo must race against time – not only to save a continent, but also to redeem himself in the eyes of the woman he cannot forget.

Praise for this book

It's a thrilling novel series that keeps me excited until the end. It is giving me the chills that I am looking for in a WWII thriller-inspired novel plus a love story that is inspiring because of the chaotic situation that the protagonists are also facing and being triumphant despite all of that. You definitely would not want to skip every page of it.

The story is unique and very surprising because I did not expect that it would be very different from the WWII classic romance novels that I have read before. I am still emotional hours after reading the book as I am amazed by the determination of the main character to go immediately to the love of his life after finding out that her country is in peril.

I am now puzzled about what the next mission will be in the next book as I am also looking forward to that. Overall, the innate talent of the protagonist of being a sharpshooter and how to gain freedom and love despite a war are the ones that readers may find terrific in this book. Honestly, I am not a fan of this genre but I was able to fall in love with the story and that's how brilliant the author is in writing such a beautiful and inspiring novel.
